Matthew Moynahan , president of Arbor, posted an article about their cooperation with Cisco in the field of DDoS attacks, in the website of Arbor Networks.
According to Matthew Moynahan: "Cisco has chosen to integrate the Peakflow Threat Management System of Arbor, in the series ASR9000 router, in order to achieve the greatest possible protection against DDoS attacks."
The Peakflow Threat Management System includes an optional SSL acceleration card on the same device, designed to provide an integrated solution for controlling the encrypted traffic for DDoS threats. The exclusion of DDoS attacks is performed in real time as the normal traffic passes - and this is achieved without forced changes to the existing network and application infrastructure.
"With the addition of high-end market provided by Arbor to mitigate attacks DDoS in router series ASR 9000, Cisco is meeting the needs of customers who wish to restrict the DDoS attacks on the edge of the network. It's a smart move for both companies", said analyst Jeff Wilson, while Chris Rodriguez states: "By integrating Arbor’s proven DDoS mitigation technology, Cisco is moving effectively allowing customers to cope with increasing size and scale of the DDoS attacks."
Let me remind you that the partnership between the two of them regarding security issues, dates back to 2000. This synergy is an important and significant milestone for Arbor Networks, which the last 15 years is joining forces with the largest network operators in the world, providing solutions against DDoS attacks.
